West Virginia Statewide Read Aloud on August 9, 2023!
Last year Governor Jim Justice declared August 9th as Dolly Day here in West Virginia. This year, to commemorate Dolly Day, we will be hosting a statewide read aloud of the Imagination Library book, Find Fergus. We are looking for community partners in each of our 55 counties to commit to hosting a read aloud event for families.
The June Harless Center will provide a book activity sheet that can be used to support your read aloud event, as well as a copy of the book to the first community partner to commit to a read aloud in each county.
If you are interested in hosting a read aloud event in your county on August 9, 2023. Please complete the interest form below as soon as possible.
WV State Read Aloud Interest Form
Once completing the form, you will be contacted to confirm your event. Your event will then be added to a public list of read aloud events being held on August 9, 2023 that will be shared with families and other community members.
For questions or for more information, please contact Brittany Fike at brittany.fike@marshall.edu.
*Please note that while a copy of the book will only be mailed to the first partner in each county, we welcome multiple partners from each county to host events.
