Hold a literature fair at the school and/or county level. Students create a backboard project board based on a set of judging criteria to showcase a book they have read. Students may enter their projects in competition similar to a Science or Social Studies Fair at the school- or county-level.
First place projects may enter a regional fair experience currently held at Glenville State College and West Liberty University.

We have gotten confirmation from Glenville State University that the WVRA Regional Literature Fair will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the GSU Waco Center!
West Liberty University is also planning on hosting a regional fair this year, and details will be forthcoming. Counties located in the upper half of the state may wish to take advantage of this new location to cut down on travel time. Please do NOT use the registration links on this post to register for the fair at West Liberty. These links are ONLY for the fair at Glenville State University!
County Contacts wishing to register for the fair at Glenville State University will need to upload project entrants by October 17 here and enter judges information here. We would like each county sending students to try to find at least 4-5 volunteers willing to serve as judges.

Attention! Classrooms, schools, and counties located in the Northern Panhandle, you are invited to participate in the first regional WVRA Literature Fair hosted at West Liberty University. This is an opportunity open to all WV public, parochial, and private schools, PreK-12th grade located in the Northern Panhandle. Participation may include county, class, individual, and/or small group involvement. If the school district or school is not participating, an individual teacher may still participate in the fair. This Committee sponsors a Parents and Reading Honor Council Recognition program for local chapters. Local Councils hold two parent events per year and receive recognition each year at annual conference in November.
A Studies and Research Committee regularly sends information on hot topic and literacy issues electronically to WVRA members only.
